This Gruffalo® 50p has been issued by The Royal Mint to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this much-loved character of Children’s literature. Over 13 million copies of Julia Donaldson’s Gruffalo book have been sold worldwide and this is the first time the Gruffalo has appeared on official UK coinage.
The obverse features a portrait of Her Majesty by Jody Clark.
This coin is new and in Superior Brilliant Uncirculated condition (BUNC). BUNC coins are minted to a higher standard than coins made for circulation.
