Originally created by Raymond Briggs in 1978 as a wordless picture book, the story has since become synonymous with British Christmas traditions, helped in part by the popular film adaptation starring David Bowie. Traditionally broadcast on Christmas Eve, the tale’s original meaning about the transience of life has evolved to capture the warmth and joy of festive spirit.
This is the first coin celebrating The Snowman to feature the official coinage portrait of His Majesty The King on its obverse.
This coin is new and in Superior Brilliant Uncirculated condition (BUNC). BUNC coins are minted to a higher standard than coins made for circulation.
