The design of this coin hasn't yet been published but here is what we know so far. The coin will feature an almost complete jigsaw puzzle with the final piece ready to be inserted, along with the inscription ‘1920 100 YEARS OF MYSTERY 2020′.
Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, born on 15th September 1890, was an English writer who's first book, 'The Mysterious Affair at Styles' was written in 1920. This coin is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of this, the first of many books.
Agatha Christie wrote over 80 detective novels. The most popular of her stories revolved around her fictional detectives Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot.

This isn't the only coin released in celebration of literature, to date there is one 50p and two other £2 coins. The 2009 £2 coin features an extract from Auld Lang Syne which was written by Robert Burns, a Scottish poet and lyricist. This is currently the only £2 coin in this category to have been released for general circulation. In 2017 Jane Austin was depicted on a £2 coin, but sadly this was never released for general circulation. The final coin related to literature shows the side profile of Sherlock Holmes surround by the titles of other books written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. this coin was released in 2019.
